The Malaysian Wood Industries Association [MWIA] formerly known as Timber Trade Federation Malaysia was established on 1957 is a voluntary association comprising of seven [7] State Associations in Peninsular Malaysia. Originally comprising of mainly sawmillers in Peninsular Malaysia, MWIA now represents members with diversified business interests covering the whole range of upstream and downstream activities in the timber industry with the change of name in 2000.

The general objective of Malaysian Wood Industries Association is to promote foster of the interests of the timber industry. In discharging its responsibilities, MWIA has established a close rapport with the Government and its agencies. Our representatives are sitting on the Board of Management of The Malaysian Timber Industry Board [MTIB], The Malaysian Timber Council [MTC].
As President of the Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA), I am proud to present the new layout of MWIA website to disseminate information on MWIA member activities and products.
As one of the national body representing the wood-based industry in Peninsular Malaysia, MWIA endeavors to help and develop the industry in many ways.
MWIA was established in 1957 and I am happy to note that over the years, MWIA has becomes more proactive with its activities and programs for the benefits of the members. The move is in line with MWIA objective to push the members to move forward with technological and manufacturing changes towards enhancing R&D activities.
