MWIA Engagement with JPJ and Forestry Department on Weight Load of Lorry Jinkers

A weighing session for the load of logs lorry jinkers in comparison with the load based on volume calculation has been conducted by MWIA in collaboration with JPJ and Forestry Department. The session was to resolve the issue of MWIA members receiving summons for overloading instead they have complied to the Guidelines given by Forestry Department.

The weighing exercise was held in JPJ Weighing Station in Benta, Pahang and witnessed by Datuk Lokman Jamaan (JPJ Enforcement Director), Dato' Mohd Rahim Rani (Deputy Director General of Forestry Department), Mr. Goh Chee Yew (MWIA President), Tan Sri Dato Sri Lim Sing (MWIA Treasurer) as well as MWIA members. 

As a result, it was agreed that a data collection period to be carried out by JPJ from 17th October 2022, for a week. The aim is to have a more comprehensive data. For that time being, no summons will be issued for lorry jinkers which has exceeded the weight load.
